0steoma is a benign bone tumor characterized by proliferation of either compact or cancclloas bj.i~ in an endosteal or periosteal location. The differential diagnosis should include osteochoadroma, fibrous dysplasia, chondroma, ossifying fibroma, condensing osteitis, tori and exostoses. When an ostema is identified in the skull or facial bones, the clinician must rule out Gardner¢¥s syndrome by surveying the remainder of the facial skeleton and sku¢¥1 for multiple lesions. The indications for surgical removal of osteoma are based on ti- degree of disfigurement, loss of or limitation in function, or desire for a definitive histopathologic diagnosis. Complete excision is the prefered treatment.
This is to report a case of osteoma occurred in left mandibular angle, ramus and condyle area. On the basis of clinical, radiographic and histologic examination, the patient was diagnosed as osteoma and we performed the complete excision of osteoma.
